ANNOUNCEMENT: UKRAINIAN CAUSE & NEW CONCERT ON 10TH SEPTEMBER
We would like to thank our members for supporting our fundraising concert for the Ukrainian cause and to Alexei Lubimov, Giovanni Antonini and Olga Pashchenko for donating their fees for this concert in full.
We would like to share with you a letter we received from the Order of Malta confirming receipt of these funds which will be used mainly to pay for the transport of materials for schools for orphans and children in difficulty.
As we move closer to our September session we have some exciting news we are honoured to share with you: this year we are partnering with the municipality of Tricase to present a special concert at Piazza Giuseppe Pisanelli on Saturday 10th of September. For the first time in our festival’s history, we will launch a new concert series called ‘World Music Sounds’. The inaugural concert will feature Mexican band ‘Centavrvs’ and is free to attend.
Founded in 2012, Centavrvs has consolidated a signature sound which balances Latin American music with electronica creating a genre which the band describes as ‘Electrónica Regional Mexicana’.
This fusion earnt Centavrvs a Latin GRAMMY nomination from the Latin Recording Academy for their album “Sombras de Oro”.
We are particularly happy to welcome Centavrvs because the band shares the core beliefs that our festival upholds: namely the promotion of diversity, that different cultures should be celebrated, that music and culture transcends borders and that art should be accessible to all.
We hope to see you there!
